Application Process

Step 1: Complete the online application

Step 2: Submit your Supplemental Materials

We require applicants to email their supplemental materials as a part of the application process. Before you start your application, please make sure you have the following:

Unofficial transcripts
One page resume that details your internship, volunteer, and job experiences
A writing sample (10 page maximum) that demonstrates your writing style and critical thinking skills.

Please email your documents to NCBudgetandTax@gmail.com with the subject line with "NCSPI 2020 - Your name" in the subject line. All documents should be submitted as a WORD document or PDF. Please refrain from uploading screen shots or images taken via a mobile device.

Step 3: Ask two individuals to submit a recommendation on your behalf

Please submit 2 of the 3 reference forms for review

Academic

Academic: Someone who can attest to your academic ability and performance. (Examples: a professor, former teacher, principal, counselor, mentor, etc.)

Professional

Professional: Someone who can talk about your performance during a job, internship, or volunteer experience. (Example: Former supervisor, co-worker, mentor, etc.)

Personal

Personal: Someone who can discuss your personal character, attributes, and strengths. (Examples: Mentor, friend, co-worker, classmate, etc.)
